Northwest Territorial Dealer Review
Northwest Territorial Mint was founded in the mid-1980s and has been producing and selling a variety of metal products ever since. Though they produce a wide array of precious metals, including bars and rounds, their services extend far beyond that. The company both produces and retails all of the precious metals they mint as well as offer Gold IRA services.
While NWT has been around for over three decades and is in good standing with the BBB, they have a large volume of customer complaints online. In some cases, customers have said it took up to 4 months to get their order. On GoldDealerReviews.com, the company has 109 reviews with a 1.9 star rating out of 5 stars.
Northwest Territorial Customer Service
Despite Northwest Territorial being in business for more than 30 years, their customer service has not improved or changed all that much. If you ever need to get in touch with a customer service agent, you have two avenues by which you are able to do so; phone and email. Phone inquiries can be addressed via their toll free number (800-344-6468) Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM PST. If you need a less pressing matter to be addressed, you can get in touch with customer service via their email (email@example.com). Typically, customer service representatives will get back to you within 1 or 2 business days.
Northwest Territorial Pricing
Generally, Northwest Territorial’s products are priced a bit higher than what you will find at other dealer’s sites. Whether it be bars, rounds, or coins, you will find that the prices at NWT are a bit higher than sites like APMEX, JM Bullion and Provident Metals. Of course, you should always do your own research and price-comparison, but more often than not you will pay more for bullion at NWT than you will at many other online retail sites.
Northwest Territorial’s IRA Program
Adding physical precious metals to your IRA is a simple process through NWT. Their IRA program is run through the GoldStar Trust Company, one of the most trusted in the world. Many of the products sold by NWT are IRA-eligible, meaning you can begin and fund your IRA account all on the same site.
Northwest Territorial Shipping and Insurance Rates
Shipping costs through NWT are determined by the nominal value of your order. For all orders under $250, a $10 shipping charge will be applied. For orders ranging in value between $250 and $399, a $20 shipping charge will be applied. Finally, for all orders totaling $400 or more, shipping will cost a flat $30.
According to their website, all gold, platinum, and palladium orders will be shipped via USPS Registered Insured mail. Orders containing silver, however, are most often dispatched via FedEx Ground. You will always be made aware of the courier service handling your order.
Payment Methods Accepted by Northwest Territorial
Northwest Territorial Mint offers its customers a few different avenues of payment. Credit/debit cards, cashier’s checks, personal checks, and bank wires are all accepted forms of payment at NWT. Depending on the avenue by which you pay for your order, your payment may be held for a specified amount of time in order for it to be verified. Personal checks will be held for 10 business days, cashier’s checks for 5, and bank wires will be put on hold for 24 hours.
Is Northwest Territorial A Scam?
When dealing with any online retailer of precious metals, it should be your top priority to make sure that the dealer in question is worthy of your trust. Because most precious metals transactions are for hundreds, often thousands of dollars, it only makes sense that you want to be dealing with a company that will safeguard your personal and financial information. On top of it all, you want to also be dealing with a seller that is going to give you the product they advertised and not try to pull the wool over your eyes.
Northwest Territorial is not a BBB accredited company and has a B- rating.
