The obverse side of each 2015 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin features a breathtaking effigy of the Queen Elizabeth II, the representative monarch of Canada. Drawn by famed Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt in 2003, this iconic image represents Canada’s unique history while signifying authenticity as a coin from the Royal Canadian Mint. The text along the top of the coin reads the queen’s name, while the text along the bottom states the denomination of the coin as well as the year it was minted.
In honor of the flag of Canada, the reverse side of the 2015 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin features a highly detailed sugar maple leaf image. To the right of the leaf’s stem is the unique 2015 maple leaf privy, which details the year of production when examined under a magnifying glass. The top of the reverse side specifies the country of origin, while the purity of the gold is indicated both to the left and right of the maple leaf icon. The words “Fine Gold 1 oz Or Pur” are written along the bottom of the coin, describing the gold used in the minting process in both English and French, the two languages of Canada.
